چکیده

Wuchereria bancrofti and Brugia malayi are the filarial worms belonging to phylum Nematoda cause lymphatic filariasis (LF) disease in humans. W. B. Wolbachia dependent organisms while C. elegans is free living independent nematode. In order investigate conserved regions present mitochondrial genome of these organisms, complete (mt) genomes having size 13,636 bp 13,657 length, respectively compared with (13794 bp). These mt were similar each other respect their size, AT content encode same 12 PCGs (nad1–6, nad4L, cytb, cox1–3, atp6). Complete alignment identified 13 some unique only one organism. Phylogenetic analysis using showed a close relationship between but common early ancestor emphasizing an evolutionary divergence.

The immunodominant Brugia malayi paramyosin as a marker of current infection with Wuchereria bancrofti adult worms.

The full-length cDNA sequence encoding Brugia malayi L3 paramyosin has been isolated by immunoscreening a cDNA library with a mouse antiserum raised against Wuchereria bancrofti L3 infective larvae. A recombinant truncated form of paramyosin was expressed as a glutathione S-transferase fusion protein and used to evaluate humoral responses of adults from a W. bancrofti-endemic area in French Pol...

Modeling analysis of GST (glutathione-S-transferases) from Wuchereria bancrofti and Brugia malayi

GST (glutathione S-transferases) are a family of detoxification enzymes that catalyze the conjugation of reduced GSH (glutathione) to xenobiotic (endogenous electrophilic) compounds. GST from Wb (Wuchereria bancrofti) and Bm (Brugia malayi) are significantly different from human GST in sequence and structure. Thus, Wb-GST and Bm-GST are potential chemotherapeutic targets for anti-filarial treat...

Draft genome of the filarial nematode parasite Brugia malayi.

Parasitic nematodes that cause elephantiasis and river blindness threaten hundreds of millions of people in the developing world. We have sequenced the approximately 90 megabase (Mb) genome of the human filarial parasite Brugia malayi and predict approximately 11,500 protein coding genes in 71 Mb of robustly assembled sequence. Comparative analysis with the free-living, model nematode Caenorhab...
